From Sri Lanka’s recognized universities, students interested in applying their learning about sustainable agriculture and food systems to their careers as farmers, urban gardeners, and environmental educators are welcome to apply for our programs.
This course focuses on:
- Insecticides, Weedicides, and Fungicides that are part of Lankem's product range
- Labelling and recommendations for Agrochemicals
- Field operations, including field demonstrations, farmer training programs, and artificial Intelligence training programmes
- Management of stakeholder relationships
On the Job Training (OJT) Programmes
Through our six-month On the Job Training program for students of Agricultural Schools in Sri Lanka, we provide instruction and practical training in Sustainable Agriculture.
The purpose of this course is to systematically evaluate skills training programmes and expose students to ground level activities.
This course focuses on:
- Knowledge of agrochemicals such as insecticides, weedicides, and fungicides that are part of Lankem's product portfolio
- Analyzing the trends and products of competitors
- Operations in the field, including demonstrations, farmer training programs, artificial intelligence training programs, etc.
- Involvement in the management of dealers and sub dealers
- Services related to Agri-extension for farmers and Assurance Department

Field Demonstration
Field demonstrations are usually organized by research and development departments and/or field personnel, preferably in conjunction with farmers. The purpose of this project is to validate and demonstrate the latest technologies and new products which have been introduced to the Lankem product portfolio.
Why a Field Demonstration?
- It is possible for the company to obtain first-hand knowledge of the performance of newly introduced products
- An effective tool for testing the market
- Effective way to inform farmers about new options available to them
Farmer Training Classes
In this course, farmers are exposed to Lankem products (including how to use, why to use, where to use, and what amount to use), as well as how to experiment and solve problems independently. Farmers gather with a facilitator regularly, observe, talk, ask questions, and learn together.
As part of Lankem’s agricultural training program, we organize seasonal farmer training classes before the start of the Maha and Yala seasons throughout the island. Additionally, we conduct special training sessions based on the requirements for the season.
Pocket Meetings
Pocket meetings serve primarily to discuss the burning issues among the small group of farmers and to propose the most effective solutions. Most of the time, it takes place on the field with the help of our field staff

Crop Calendars
The crop calendar is a schedule that outlines the cultural operations necessary for crop production. It is primarily intended to provide advance notice of the timing of various cultural practices for different crops. Below are other objectives.

- Money management facilities.
- Assist in the proper distribution of labor.
- To assist in the efficient management of crops.
- To determine the optimal time for fertilizer and pesticide application.
- Recording the results of various agricultural practices.
